CHRIST IS AT WORK IN LOCAL CHURHES

Revelation 1:12-13,

12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest…. 20 As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches….2:1.. "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: 'The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

Christ JESUS is with us always; these were His last words prior to His ascension; and understanding this promise and what it means to believers and local congregations is critical.  He is with us continually; He actively guides the church, i.e. the local church; and the focus of the local church is JESUS.

(The following is taken from DALLAS THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY-Online Course-Revelation: week 3; https://courses.dts.edu/module-1/revelation-week-three/)

--Christ is at work in local churches (Revelation 1:12-13, 20; 2:1)

--The messengers are precious to Christ (Revelation 1:16, 20; 2:1)

--A key to endurance is a proper view of Christ

--The church is a lamp stand, not the lamp (Purpose of the church is to glorify Christ)
